16th World Kendo Championship (May, 2015) – Are you planning to go?

The 16th World Kendo Championship will be held in late May 2015 in Tokyo Japan.  The All Japan Kendo Federation will be hosting the event and plans to use the Olympic Center as a low-cost housing option.  However, they need to book the facility well in advance (by May 2013).  If you have plans to attend and wish to use the facility for your stay, please let your regional federation representatives know before March 1.  The AUSKF must submit the information to the AJKF by May 15.

4th Junior Open National Championship – June 23rd

The 4th Junior Open National Championships will be held in Las Vegas on June 23.  This tournament is open to all kenshi 18 and younger.  Applications to participate should be made to your regional federation which must submit the applications as detailed in this information packet.  The applications from the regional federations are due on April 1, 2013.

2013 AUSKF First Iaido Educational Tour – Feb. 2-11

The 2013 Iaido Education Tour will be held from Feb. 2-11, led by Chihiro Kishimoto Sensei (Iaido Hanshi 8 Dan,  Kendo Kyoshi 7 Dan,  Jodo Kyoshi 7 Dan).  He will be holding seminars in New Jersey, Texas, Colorado, Washington, and southern California over this time period.  See the detailed schedule [PDF] for scheduled places and times.

This is a reminder that applications for the FIK American zone referee seminar to be held March 9-10 near Washington, D.C. are due soon.  Contact your regional federation president for details and application procedure if you aren’t already aware of this.  Applications should not be sent directly to the FIK or AUSKF.
