Zone 1 AUSKF Referee Seminar 5/21-22/16 in Southern California
Dear SCKO, WKF and SCKF:
We are happy to announce that AUSKF will be having it’s first 2016-2017 Referee Zone Seminar in Southern California. This will be in preparation for AUSKF National events and federation regional events in the coming 3 years. This is an important seminar as we strive to create a referee training that will be comprehensive and put all referees on the same path of judging a match fairly to everyone’s satisfaction.
We invite all your members 3 dan and above to attend. We also would like your federation 7 Dan sensei to assist with teaching our kenshi as well, so we ask for their assistance.
Lower rank yudansha (1 – 2 Dan) are invited to attend, however they must register. They should also bring their dogu as they can participate as shiai-sha. It is an opportunity to learn about kendo for them as well. Unfortunately they will not be able to participate actively as referees, only as shiai-sha.
The seminar will be over 2 days, those who would like to be eligible for certification, should plan to be there at least 9 hours (75% of the time), and actively participate over the two days. Members of other AUSKF regional federations may also attend as all zone seminars will be conducted in the same manner.
The seminar will be:
– Date: Sat & Sun, May 21-22, 2016
– Time: Sat: 9am to 4pm, Sun: 9am to 3pm
– Location: West (Torrance) HIgh School – see below for directions
– Registration deadline: May 16, 2016
– Fee: $10 seminar fee (non-refundable)
– Options: Bento for each day $9 (7-dan sensei is complimentary)
Saturday Dinner banquet: $30 (includes tax/tip)
EVERYONE is invited to join the dinner and enjoy the company of kenshi and sensei. It’s an opportunity to discuss and learn more about the day’s event!
– Payments will be collected at the seminar by check or cash.
Fee: cash or check to: All US Kendo Federation
Options: cash or check to: Southern California Kendo Federation
Cancellations after May 16th is responsibility of individual and dojo.
Registration is “on-line” by individuals or a dojo representative may complete registration for each of their members.
All 7-dan sensei should register as well (7-Dan fees will be waived after registration and verification of attendance).
On May 17th, we will send each dojo a copy of their participating kenshi for verification.
